The Five Pages You Must Have on Your Website

Is building a website for your business one of those daunting tasks that you keep passing over because it overwhelms you just to think about it? I don’t blame you! It’s a big project and one you shouldn’t expect yourself to be able to tackle all on your own.

By taking baby steps, you can start to build a website from scratch. The content that you put on the website is the most important thing.

Don’t get yourself hung up on your color themes and what fonts look best. Open up a Google Doc and start writing what words you want on the website first! Trust me, it makes it a lot easier for you and your web designer if you have your content written first.

Opening up a blank document is scary in itself. So here’s my advice — open it and type out the five titles that are listed below in bold first.

Then, go back through and bullet point the things that you would like to cover on each of those pages.

Lastly, turn those bullet points into coherent sentences. Take it step by step and before you know it, you will have a complete outline for your website that you can share with a graphic designer to turn it into a professional site.

1. Home Page

The home page is the main page of your site. It's the one that shows off the whole package. Make sure it loads fast and tells your viewers/readers what you have to offer within just a few seconds!

2. About Page

The about page is the second page many visitors to your site will click on after they land on the home page. This is the page where you can stand out and show why you're different from others in your field and make that connection.

3. Services

This one seems obvious because of course, you want to tell people about your services! The page(s) where you explain your services have to be written in a way that will get your info across and tell your visitors why they need what you offer before they click off the page.

4. Contact

Don't forget to give your visitors a way to contact you! Keep it simple with a short form or leave just your email and number. If you're not always available, drop a note here saying you will get back within a certain amount of time.

5. Testimonials

Testimonials are the secret weapon to closing a sale before you ever even talk to a prospective client. Nothing sells you better than people who have already loved working with you!

The five pages above are the most important pages to have on your website. Once you have them complete, you can expand and mold your website further.
