First NFR Experience 2020

My mema always tells me to do things now when I'm young and I've taken this to heart!

I've been becoming a bit of a yes-woman over the last year or so because I don't want to miss out on any experiences or have any regrets.

Random trip to Arizona in May? Yes, please!

Quick two day trip to Universal Studios with my brother? Heck yea!

Try scuba diving in Curacao? Sure!

Become a snowboarder? Better late than never!

Go to a rodeo in Texas? Yee haw!

Skydive? No thanks!

Jumping out of planes is where I draw the line.

This month, I had the chance to go to the National Finals Rodeo in Texas. Honestly, even 10 days ago I had never even heard of the NFR before. My friend described it as being the Superbowl of rodeos. Sounded good to me!

We got to Texas on Friday, had a rodeo-filled, yee hawin' day on Saturday, and flew home Sunday.

I'm finding that these quick two day trips give me so much life! There are so many people who stay in the same town their entire life and never experience anything else. They stay in their comfort zone and never venture out to try something new.

I hate flying; it scares the bejeezus outta me. But I flew on two planes on Friday and two on Sunday. I also had to do this without my husband to calm my nerves. But in order to do the fun things, I had to get through the tough parts!

And you know what? By the fourth flight, I was actually starting to enjoy soaring through the air!

The point of this quick post is to say, don’t wait until you have more time, money, etc to do the fun things. Get out of your comfort zone and do it all now. In my opinion, it’s much riskier to think you will be able to do things in the future when you don’t know what the future may bring.
