3 Reasons to Have a Blog: Communication, Credibility, and SEO

I feel like I’ve always been writing blogs. Even before I established myself as a copywriter, I dedicated myself to blogging my own book reviews. #nerdalert

But I know a lot of people have a hard time knowing where to start - and if making a blog is even worth the time.

No matter your reason for not having one, I can tell you from my own experience that investing in a blog is well worth the effort. Whether you’re part of a business, a freelancer, or a copywriter, there are tons of reasons why having a blog is an absolute must!

1. Communication 💬

How do we build connections with people? By talking to them, of course! Blogging works the same way. When you write a blog post, it’s almost like you’re “talking”  to your readers.

Blogs can also help you reach your audience as they provide a platform to engage with them. You can answer their questions in the comments. You can even offer them freebies and conduct polls or quizzes for their feedback. Ultimately, your blog can help you and your readers to really get to know each other!

2. Credibility🙋 🎓

Build credibility. Show your readers why you are their go-to source - yes, you! You can use your blog not only to communicate the value your website provides - but to share you. Your voice. Your personality. Your values. This will make you seem more 3 dimensional and relatable.

You can use your blog to showcase your expertise and qualifications. The more reliable your information is, the more your audience will come to value your website. And the more relatable you are, the more they’ll come to trust your expert advice.

3. SEO 🚦 👮

Get out your whistle and get ready to direct traffic - your audience is coming your way! No, seriously! Blogs are a fantastic way to direct people prowling on the internet to your website! That’s because search engines like Google operate with a little something called SEO, or Search Engine Optimization.

One of the perks of SEO is that web-surfers are directed to the most recent content. Search engines will keep track of when websites are updated. The more recent your website content is, the more it will show up in people’s search results. That’s why making a blog is one of the easiest ways to attract readers and up your SEO game!

Your blog is truly the ultimate highway to finding your ideal audience and one of the most important tools in your marketing arsenal.
